Maersk will discontinue the FEW1 service and integrate it with the existing FEW3 service to form the upgraded FEW3 service covering Tema, Lekki, Abidjan and Pointe-Noire. The upgraded FEW3 service will deploy 13,000 teu vessels, connecting major ports in Asia and Africa, and is Maersk's largest vessel deployment in sub-Saharan Africa.

  • FEW6 route

After removing the Cape Town port, the FEW6 service gives more slots to the South West African ports and adds a new call to Kribi, which greatly improves the import and export schedules and their punctuality, shortening the transit time between the Asian ports and the South West African ports by 7 days, and increasing the overall reliability of the service for the customers.

  • Cape Town Express

Port Louis - Cape Town - Port Louis

Maersk's establishment of the Cape Town Express, a feeder service between Port Louis and Cape Town to cover Cape Town's imports and exports, will improve the punctuality and safety of the Cape Town service and meet the steady demand for cargo between Port Louis and Cape Town.

  • SAFARI Route

Shanghai - Ningbo - Shekou - Tanjung Brabas - Port Louis - Durban - Port Louis - Tanjung Brabas

The SAFARI service will add a northbound route from Port Louis and provide a direct link between Cape Town's exports, including reefer containers, and Asian markets in conjunction with the Cape Town Express service. The upgrade is designed to enhance the punctuality and stability of the South African service and to support the growth of the South African market.
