Types of Railway Cargo Transportation and Conditions of Handling
The types of railroad cargo transportation are divided into three kinds, namely, full wagon, LTL and container.
1. Whole cargo: the weight, volume or shape of a batch of goods need to be transported by more than one truck, should be consigned according to the whole truck.
2. Less-than-truckload (LTL) cargo: If there are not enough conditions for full truckload transportation, the cargo should be transported according to LTL.
For LTL consignments, the minimum volume of a piece shall not be less than 0.02 cubic meters (except for a piece weighing more than 10 kilograms), and each consignment shall not exceed 300 pieces.
The following goods shall not be shipped on LTL basis:
Goods requiring refrigeration, insulation or heating for transportation;
Dangerous goods which are stipulated to be restricted to be handled on a full truck basis;
Foul goods that are liable to contaminate other cargo (e.g., livestock bones, wet furs, manure, charcoal black, etc., that have not been sterilized or are not packaged in sealed, leak-tight packages);Bees;Goods that cannot be easily counted in pieces;
Uncontained movable objects (except those which the Group Company stipulates can be transported as LTL in the tube);
A piece of cargo weighing more than 2 tons, with a volume of more than 3 cubic meters or a length of more than 9 meters (except for those confirmed by the originating station that will not affect the loading and unloading operations at the transfer station and the arriving station).
The organization of direct full load LTL transportation within the special line or special railroad shall be handled by the station and shipper after negotiation and signing of agreement with the consent of the Group Company; if the organization of transshipment full load LTL, the consent of the Group Company shall be obtained.
